Library (LBX Box of Mystery challenge)
The first of two paintings done for Light Box Expo's Box of Mystery challenge. The theme of the challenge was "Box of Mystery", a mysterious or fantastical environment.
I didn't want to be too "on-the-nose" for my designs, so I took a symbolic approach for the first design, where the books were the 'box of mysteries'. The design changed a little bit a certain points, such as colors or small details, but overall it was a fun piece to work on and design.

12. cleaning up and adding saturation to certain areas. Also cleaned up shadow shapes.
11. adjusting shadow values from previous changes.
10. editing color. Previous "finish" looked overly saturated in many areas and colors were too wild. I ended up darkening the walls to a dull purple and changing the staircase to brown.
