One Week Portrait challenge
Having not painted portraits in a while, I decided to join an art challenge that was going on with Paintable.
I figured it'd be a nice mini "class" and would most likely benefit me despite the subject matter. The original portrait photo was one I had previously found on Pinterest a while back and the lighting in the image was pretty unique. Tons of colors!
color 4 - edge control finishes, as well as more textures.
color 3 - nose, lips and chin width were much too small and had to be adjusted. Started pushing back the hair edges, and painting some textures on skin.
color 3 - hair was too light! Increased hair value, while working up the rendering portion of the hair
color 2 - blending certain areas while keeping planes intact as much as possible. Focused on skin for this portion
color 1 - blocking in colors with hard shapes; I had to resist the urge to make soft edges in the cheeks and forehead!
